Why shops join

Five wins
from one bike outside your door.

Half the bike is your shop.
01 · Free advertising

Half the bike is your shop.

We co-brand the cargo box: Cargoroo on one side, your logo, colours and tagline on the other. A rolling billboard parked on your busiest pavement and ridden through your neighborhood every day.

Every customer leaves with €15 of free rides.
02 · €15 voucher = footfall

Every customer leaves with €15 of free rides.

Print it on the receipt, drop it in the bag, hand it over with the coffee. It's a reason to come in, a reason to come back, and a reason to tell a friend. People walk in for the voucher and leave with a bag.

They came in for milk. They're leaving with a crate.
03 · Bigger baskets

They came in for milk. They're leaving with a crate.

When a cargo bike is parked outside, customers stop self-limiting to what fits in a tote. The 6-pack becomes a case. The bouquet becomes the garden centre run. Average ticket size goes up.

Your neighbors rent it. You keep 60%.
04 · Passive revenue

Your neighbors rent it. You keep 60%.

When the bike isn't in your hands, locals book it through the Cargoroo app — the same network that already has 20.000+ riders. You earn a 60% share of everything it makes above the subscription.

Run your own errands on it.
05 · It's your bike too

Run your own errands on it.

Pick up stock from the wholesaler, deliver an order across town, move the market stall on Saturday morning. The bike is yours first — whenever you need it, it's parked at your door.

How it works

From sign-up to first booking in about 2 weeks.

Step 1: Apply your shop
01

Apply your shop

Tell us about your shop, your pavement spot, and the neighborhood you serve. We approve one shop per street.

Step 2: We brand & deliver
02

We brand & deliver

We wrap the cargo box with your logo and colours, then drop the bike off at your door. Insured, serviced, ready.

Step 3: Hand out vouchers
03

Hand out vouchers

Every customer gets a €15 ride credit at checkout. Print, sticker, QR — however fits your shop.

Step 4: Neighbors book it
04

Neighbors book it

When you're not using it, locals rent it through the Cargoroo app. Scan, ride, return.

Step 5: You earn back
05

You earn back

Vouchers bring footfall. Cargo capacity grows the basket. Rentals pay a 60% share into your account every month.

The €15 voucher

The receipt
that brings them back.

Every customer who buys from you gets €15 of free Cargoroo credit. We fund the vouchers — you take the credit. Use it to pull people in, reward regulars, or close the sale on a bigger basket.

  • Codes generated for your shop — they only work from your till
  • Customers redeem on any Cargoroo bike, anywhere in the city
  • Every redemption is a person you've introduced to the network

The math

Six revenue lines.
One bike.

Most marketing channels cost you money. This one pays you. A typical pilot shop in a busy neighborhood looks like this in month 3:

Per month, illustrative

Extra footfall from vouchers (40 visits × €6 basket lift)+€240
Bigger baskets — cargo-haul buyers (20 × €15 uplift)+€300
Your 60% share of neighborhood rentals+€420
Saved on your own delivery/errand runs+€80
Advertising value of your branded bike around the city+€100
Extra traffic driven from the Cargoroo rider network+€120
Cargoroo Shopfront subscription (bike, wrap, insurance, service)−€300
Net to your shop+€960

Yes — you pay us €300/month. That covers the bike, the co-branded wrap, insurance, maintenance, battery swaps and the voucher fund. Even a quiet month tends to wash the fee out; a busy one is pure upside. Numbers vary by location and footfall.

Who it's for

Built for the shops
that anchor a street.

We pick one shop per block — the kind of place where the owner knows the regulars by name. If that sounds like you, you're our person.

Coffee shops: Caffeine in. Customers back tomorrow.
Coffee shops

Caffeine in. Customers back tomorrow.

A voucher on every cup and a branded bike at the door. Regulars stop being random — they become a route.

Bread shops & bakeries: Loaves out the door, by the crate.
Bread shops & bakeries

Loaves out the door, by the crate.

Saturday-morning queues spill onto the pavement. The bike turns 'just a baguette' into the weekly bread run for four households.

Florists: Bulky, beautiful, hard to carry.

Bulky, beautiful, hard to carry.

Bouquets and pot plants are the classic 'I would have bought it but I couldn't carry it' sale. With the bike at the door, you stop losing it.

Local corner shops: The bike is the basket.
Local corner shops

The bike is the basket.

When customers know they can pedal a crate home, they buy the crate. Average basket size goes up overnight, especially on weekends.

Den Haag territories

One shop per street.
Some are gone.

We protect your patch. When your block is claimed, no other shop on it can host a Cargoroo bike. Here's how Den Haag is filling up right now.

The network effect

Your bike isn't
starting from zero.

Your bike joins the Cargoroo network — 20.000+ registered riders across the Netherlands who already rent our bikes every week. The moment your branded bike lands on your pavement, every one of them can find and book it.

They see your shop logo on the cargo box. They ride past your door to pick it up. Some of them walk in.

The Shopfront WhatsApp

A group chat
of shop owners who get it.

Every Shopfront host gets invited to a private WhatsApp group with the other owners. It's where the real playbook lives — the voucher hooks that worked, the receipt copy that converted, the time of day that pulls the most rentals, the basket combos that doubled their lift.

  • Real numbers from real shops — what each €15 voucher actually brought back
  • Hints & tips from owners doing it longer than you
  • Swap stock, share suppliers, refer customers between shops

Tip: glue the voucher to the bread bag, not the receipt. Redemption went 18% → 41% in a week.
Yusuf · De Hoek
Tried this on Saturday — sold out of sourdough by 11. People literally pedaled away with 3 loaves.
Femke · Bloem & Co
Anyone else parking the bike loaded with one bouquet as a display? My walk-ins doubled.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

What does it cost my shop?+

A flat €300/month subscription — that covers the bike, the co-branded wrap, insurance, maintenance, battery swaps and the voucher fund. No setup fee, no commitment beyond a month's notice. Most pilot shops fully cover the €300 from voucher-driven footfall and rental share alone.

How does the branding work?+

We design a co-branded cargo box: Cargoroo on one side, your shop's logo and colours on the other. We sign it off with you before printing.

Who pays for the €15 vouchers?+

Cargoroo funds the credit. You get the marketing benefit. The voucher cost is part of why we choose pilot neighborhoods carefully — we want shops where it pays back fast.

What if my customers don't ride bikes?+

They don't need to. The bike is a billboard, a basket and a conversation starter — even non-riders bring it up. And once they redeem the voucher, most do try it.

What does 'host the bike' actually mean?+

Park it visibly on your pavement when you're open, plug it in to charge overnight, and flag anything broken in the Cargoroo app. We handle the rest.

Can I quit?+

Yes. One month's notice and we collect the bike. Try it for a season.
